Bone Broth 101
By Karla Jones Seidita, Home Economist
There’s nothing glamorous or exciting about bone broth yet it’s one of the healthiest things you can eat.
Simmering bones in water for a long time lets minerals from the bones create a magical blend of nutrient dense goodness that supports overall good health.
The resulting broth is said to cure everything from bad skin to brittle bones, helps you lose weight and promotes longevity along with a few unexpected perks like making fingernails long and strong. Bone broth is a practically no cal, no caffeine snack, too, that takes the edge off an empty tummy.
So what exactly is this magical elixir?

2. Put broth in a large pot.
Add vegetables to taste – carrots, celery, onion, potato, sweet potato, tomatoes (fresh or canned), parsnips, garlic, mushrooms – whatever you like in amounts you like and cook (partially covered) till veggies are soft.
