"The Day the Candy Cane Factory Shut Down"
A Holiday Short Story with Recipes
By Karla Jones Seidita
From the story.........
"Making candy canes was a tradition Granny started when her children were young. Each December, she’d gather them around the table in her small farm house kitchen. They’d wrap the finished canes while listening to Granny’s stories of Christmas.
Granny gifted everyone in Joyful one of her very special candy canes. You’d often hear her say that giving a homemade candy cane was like sprinkling a bit of Christmas joy.
One day, a buyer from a large department store placed an order for hundreds of Granny’s canes. With that order, her holiday hobby became a business. Granny eventually outgrew her kitchen and moved into a spacious factory on the outskirts of town."
